WORLDS FIRST STOCK EXCHANGE

The worlds first stock exchange was established in Antwerp,Belgium in 1460.In 1531 a new stock exchange was built in Antwerp.This building is located off the Meir Street.It was the first building in the world designed as stock exchange and trade exchange.The entire complex burned down in 1858.
The present construction is the 19th century Noe-Gothic renovation.The original Gothic building was building was greatly admired by everyone.Even Queen Elizabeth I had it copied by architect Gresham and called it Royal Exchange of London.
Antwerp,daughter of the River Scheldt and second largest City of Belgium.It is the second largest harbour of Europe.
